WHCC(SCTCA champs) wins 2011 CT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP by beating Caribbean CC(Hartford champs)
WHCC(SCTCA champions) wins 2011 Connecticut State Championship beating Caribbean CC (Hartford champions).
Caribbean CC won the toss & elected to bat first. Caribbean CC started the innings positively, but Raj A grabbed 2 important wickets for WHCC in his opening spell.At drinks Caribbean CC were comfortable at 65/2 in 15 overs.Then Gautam (2 wkts) & Ganesh (4wkts) bowled some tempting flighted off spin to collapse Caribbean CC batting lineup.Caribbean CC were bundled up for a modest total of 133 after decnt start. WHCC chase depended on a strong start, but the Caribbean CC pacers Everton Nelson & Shawn Edwards bowled excellently to get both Prasad & Prasanna early. Gautam and Ganesh again came to rescue (this time with the bat) with some sensible batting rotating the strike & dispatching the loose balls to the boundary.The pair took at score to 60 runs when Ganesh was given LBW.Rajesh then scored some crucial runs before getting out when the match was evenly poised at a crucial stage at 80/5.Praneeth picked the right day to perform & played some amazing shots while Gautam at the other end smartly rotated the strike.Gautam got out for 28 after a fine sensible knock with WHCC just needing 15 more to win.Praneeth & Sheldon finished the game for WHCC.Praneeth was declared the MVP of the game for his important knock of 42 not out.
For WHCC, Gautam, Ganesh & Praneeth were the core contributors.
At the end, it was a great game played in the right spirit between the two of the talented Connecticut teams of 2011.

We can now proudly say, WHCC is the 2011 Connecticut State Champion !!!
